Dallas County loses to Chilton County

PLANTERSVILLE – The Chilton County High School Tigers stung the Dallas County High School Hornets 42-20 Friday night at Martin Field.
The Tigers dominated the game both offensively and defensively. They charted 258 yards in offense, intercepted the Hornets three times and claimed one Dallas County fumble.
The Tigers took the opening kickoff and scored on their third play. Ryan Williams scored the first of three touchdowns with 10:35 left in the quarter.
Williams intercepted a Hornet pass to set up the second Tiger score. Gary Davis scored from eight yards out with 7:40 left in the quarter. Norman kicked the 14th Tiger point.
Taylor Hughes passed 50 yards to Tracy Bailey with 3:19 left in the quarter to give the Tigers a 21-0 lead after Norman’s point after kick.
Williams scored his second touchdown with 9:17 left in the half on a five-yard run.
Hornet Quarterback Jacob Paxton passed 50 yards to Trevarious Mahan to put Dallas County on the scoreboard with 6:20 left in the half. The Tigers stopped the extra point attempt and led 28-6.
Williams took the following kickoff and ran 95 yards for his third touchdown and a 35-6 lead with 6:01 to plan in the half.
Paxton scored with 1:02 left in the half, making the score 35-14 at the intermission.
Gregory Collins intercepted a Hornet pass with 10:47 left in the third quarter and ran 70 yards for the Tigers’ final touchdown.
Paxton passed eight yards to Marcus Willis for the final Hornet touchdown with 2:58 to play. The Tigers stopped the point-after attempt.
The Tigers passed for 81 yards, were penalized four times for 40 yards and punted two times. The Hornets passed for 123 yards, were penalized six times for 30 yards and punted three times.
