Do we really want change?

To the Editor:
Every election we have people that tell us we need change.
Yet when candidates come forth that are qualified and have great ideas that would bring forth this change, we kick them to the curb going with a new version of the same thing that has always held the office.
Then we spend the next four years wondering why there is no change. Like clock work right before the next election we begin to her the rally cry “We Need Change.”
I am sure that the qualified candidates that have run for office in Selma/ Dallas County (that have since left the area) would disagree.
You cannot get change by doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Is that not the definition of insanity?
Could be that it is not so much about change as it is about control. Either way the rally cry needs to be changed to be more reflective of the truth … “We Want Control.” One could always replace we for I if applicable.
