Melvin Martin
Melvin Martin, 54, of Selma died Tues., Oct. 2, 2007, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
He was born Tues., Sept. 1, 1953, in Chilton County. Martin is the son of the late James Lee Martin and Mary Elizabeth Cleckley Martin.
He was an upholsterer.
Surviving are his wife, Lynda J. Martin of Selma; two sons, Jimmy (Tracy) Martin of Clanton and Justin Martin of Pennsylvania; mother, Mary Elizabeth Martin of Clanton; sister, Lynda (David) Wallace of Thorsby; brother, Ricky (Casey) Martin of Clanton; step-daughter, Rhonda (Thomas) Speed of Selma, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his father, James L. Martin and brother, Jimmy Martin.
Friends will be received from 6-8p.m., Thurs., Oct. 4 at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Fri., Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rod Rochester and the Rev. Donny Messer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center.
Interment will follow in Mt. Springs Methodist Cemetery in Clanton.

Sallie M. Roscoe
Mrs. Sallie M. Rascoe, age 100, resident of Selma died Oct. 3, 2007, at Park Place Nursing Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Final arrangements entrusted to Miller Funeral Services, Inc.
Helen Anderson Truscott
Helen Anderson Truscott, Sept. 15, 1918 &045; Sept. 25, 2007
Mrs. Helen Anderson Truscott, wife of the late Charles E. Truscott, was born in Hilton, NY. She was educated at Brockport State Teachers College, where she received a B.A. in elementary education. She taught kindergarten in Le Roy, NY until her marriage in 1947 to Charles Edwin Truscott. She is survived by her nieces Frances Eugenia Schultz, Lucille Schultz Collins Sanders, and her nephew Karl Anderson Schultz.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Selma.
A viewing will be Sat. Oct. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma. A memorial ceremony will be held at the chapel of the Presbyterian Church Sunday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
