Morgan Academy falls to Faith Academy on road

MOBILE – Playing in dreary, wet conditions, Morgan Academy succumbed to a physical Faith team Friday night.
The Rams (2-3) rode a rushing game that outgained the Senators 359-184 to a 50-16 win.
When Faith scored its touchdowns, it did so emphatically.
Touchdown runs of 58 and 66 yards and a 55-yard interception return for a score added to the barrage of points.
The Senators (1-4) got a pair of touchdown runs from Austin Smitherman and John Cox.
Smitherman finished the game with 70 yards rushing, all on a touchdown run in the third quarter. Cox added a 1-yard run for a touchdown in the fourth.
Logan Cowart kicked a 37-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Heath Harrelson led Morgan’s rushers with 80 yards on 17 carries.
Reid Fondren led the Senators’ defense with seven tackles, and Cowart had six.
