Flora D. McGee
Flora D. McGee, 92, of Selma passed away Monday morning Sept. 17, 2007, at a local nursing home. She was born in Boston, Ky., Sept. 7, 1915, to the late Dudley and Minnie Dever and spent her childhood years in Louisville, Ky. She was married to the late Senior Master Sgt. Ollie James McGee USAF for 43 years. They adopted both of their children in Germany. She had been a resident of Selma for 50 years living in the Highway 80 East area and more recently at Cedar Hill Assisted Living.
Mrs. McGee was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, teaching Children’s Sunday School Classes for several decades. She was greatly involved in Christian work in the Selma area. She was survived by her son Roger and his wife Suzanne of Alexandria, Va.,
her daughter Rhonda and her husband David of Jacksonville, Fla.
Her grandchildren are Corey McGee and Casey McGee of Alexandria, Va. and Rhett Mobley and his wife Ashley of St. Augustine Beach, Fla. and Brooke Mobley Hyatt and her husband Don of Callahan, Fla.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Highway 41, Sardis, Ala. with graveside service following at the same location, Pastor Rev. Bill Gardner and the Rev. Calvin Strickland officiating with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, funds may be given to the Shiloh Baptist Church Building Fund in her memory.
