Dick Martin Rogers

Dick Martin Rogers, age 83, died Sunday Sept. 16, 2007, in a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 18, 2007, at Marion Junction Community Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Alan Roggli and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his sons, Jerry M. Rogers (Brenda) Rogers of Northport, Jimmy T. (Charis) Rogers of Fairhope, daughter, Judy (Douglas) Coleman of Northport, five Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends from Marion Junction.

Geraldine K. &8220;Nana&8221; Deavers

Geraldine K. &8220;Nana&8221; Deavers, age 66, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away Sept. 16, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas N. and Gracie M. Kelley; brother, Wilbert Kelley; sister, Willodean Dennis and grandchild, Micah Deavers.

Surviving are her husband, Claudie L. Deavers, Jr.; son, Anthony &8220;Tony&8221; Lee (Cindy) Deavers; daughters, Kathy D. (Steve) Cook, Tammy Renee (Steve) Smitherman and Lisa Michelle (Earnest L. Jr.) Stone; sister, Ruby Sealey; grandchildren, Anthony, Erin, Kellie Skylar, Melissa, Sylvia, Amber, Stephanie, David, Elizabeth, Jacob, Alycia, Paige and Andrew; great grandchildren, Elina, Sierra, and Matthew.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Kirkland, Rev. Scott Wright, and Rev. John Ackerman officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Nana loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, traveling, and sewing.

She made her children and grandchildren quilts and put creative memory photo albums together for them.

She loved home decorating and also decorated her church.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at First Freewill Baptist and she also taught children in Sunday School.

Pallbearers will be Rev. Tim Baumgarten, Hugo Smith, Steve Sealey, Norman Copeland, Harry Pugh, Greg Kelley, Donny Kelley and Kent Kelley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Sealy, Steve Smitherman, Steve Cook, C. C. Wilkerson and Mack Wilkerson.

Marilyn Lois Venable, age 60, died Sept. 17, 2007.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at 3 p.m. at

Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, Athens, AL. with Dr. Lynn Marshall and Joe Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery

Visitation on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, from 6 p.m. to

9 p.m.

Survivors include: her husband, Wayne Venable of Athens Ala., three sons, Howard David Venable (Carrie) of Decatur, Ala. step son, Wayne Venable, Jr. (Lydia) of Hartselle, Ala. and Larry Venable (Mandy) of Rolla, Mo.; six grandchildren; a brother, Lothian Smallwood (Carol) of Selma, Ala.; sister, Alice Ann Cooper (John) of Gardendale, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.
