John Tillman ‘Sonny’ Edwards

Mr. John Tillman “Sonny” Edwards of Trenton, New Jersey, formerly of Dallas County, Orrville passed away Sept. 3, 2007. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at 12 p.m. at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church, Hazen, Ala., with burial in the Fairlawn Memorial Garden in Selma.

Survivors include one daughter, Wyoming C. Johnson, and two sons, Daniel and Lamonte; five sisters, Ethel (Willie) Hood, Betty (Levi) Varner, Barbara (Howard) Bryant, Cindy M. Owens, & Fannie (David) Perkins; five brothers, Almus R. (Susie) Edwards, James W. Edwards, Cleveland (Marcia) Edwards, Orlando Edwards, & Roy (Shirley) Edwards; five grandchildren, Brittany, Kelvin, Curtis, Jeremiah, Desha; a devoted uncle, Walter Brown, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other devoted relatives and friends.

Joe Killett

Joe Killett, age 80, of Selma passed away Sept. 4, 2007, in a local hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley P. Killett; step-daughter, Christie (Ronnie) Sawyer; one half-brother; four half-sisters; and two grandchildren, Lori Ann Henderson and Eric Pearson Henderson.

Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sawyer, Robert Caver, Eric Henderson, Sam Yarbrough and Troy Stokes and Dillan Cooper.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. William Hinson.
