Selma High, CHAT Academy principals take on new roles

Students at Selma High School and Selma Middle CHAT Academy will have new administrators this week.

Dr. Bruce Dozier, former Selma Middle assistant principal, has been named principal of Selma High. Roosevelt Wilson, former principal at Selma High has been named principal of the seventh grade campus at CHAT Academy. According to a news release issued by Selma City Schools,

the change is effective Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Wilson, principal of Selma High for the past two years, is being transferred to CHAT Academy to take over the seventh grade campus.

Bertram Pickney will serve as principal of the eighth grade campus at CHAT Academy.

The decision was made at the Selma City School Board meeting on Aug. 29.

Both Dozier and Wilson spent Monday cleaning out their offices in preparation of the move.

Dozier, who is aware Selma High has it challenges, said Monday he planned to &8220;hit the ground running.&8221;
