Walter A. Curb Jr.

Walter A. Curb Jr., age 62, passed away Friday Aug. 31, 2007, in a Birmingham hospital.

Mr. Curb was a deacon of Houston Park Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Surviving Mr. Curb is his devoted wife, Elaine Curb; son Christopher Allen Curb (Arlene), daughters Alicia Phillips (Steve), Michelle Cameron (Blaine), mother Bessie Curb, sister Betty Elliott, grandchildren Walter Tyler Cameron, Matthew Curtis (Melissa), Jason Curtis; great-grandchildren Wesley and Brandon Curtis; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and family in Christ.

Mr. Curb was preceded in death by his father Walter A. Curb, Sr.

Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Houston Park Church of Christ with Tom McLemore officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Ferguson, Jimmy Smith, Jason Curtis, Steve Phillips, Blaine Cameron and Wheeler Chance.

Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Strickland, elders and deacons of Houston Park Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston Park Church of Christ.

Willie James Livingston

Willie James Livingston, age 35, resident of Dallas County died Aug. 25, 2007, at UAB Birmingham.

Funeral services were Sat., Sept 1, 2007, 2:30pm at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist officiated by Elder F.D. Jackson.

Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Mr. Livingston was preceded in death by his mother, Flora M. James.

His survivors include: father, Mr. Matthew Livingston; one daughter, Shaquira D. Livingston; four brothers, Edward James, John Livingston, Curtis Robinson and Barry Smith; three sisters, Vera Marshall, Ophelia Brown and Zandra Pernell, 11 nieces & 11 nephews.
