George E. Mixon

George E. Mixon, age 63, resident of Sante Fe, N.M, died Aug.

16, 2007, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Service are scheduled Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Miller’s Chapel officiated by Pastor Doris Moultrie. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Garden directed by Miller Funeral Service.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Gomez; one nephew, Andre’ Sigmon; three nieces, Sonja Pettus, Monica Williams and Dana Ramsey; one sister, Evelyn M. Sigmon.

Pallbearers will be R.B. Hudson High Class of 1962.

Rosylum Brown

Rosylum Brown, 38, of Selma, died Aug. 15 at Baptist Medical Center.

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 22 at noon at Wayman Chapel Church with the Rev. Willie Browns officiating. Burial will follow at Summerfield Community Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Willie J. Brown Sr, son, Willie James Brown Jr. and daughter Salina Brown and three brothers-in-law.

Cornelia L. Byrd

Cornelia L. Byrd, 88, a resident of Selma, passed Aug. 20, 2007. Final arrangements will be announced at a later date by J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.

Willie Etheridge

Willie Etheridge, age 87, resident of Safford, Ala. died Aug. 20, 2007, at his residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Final arrangements entrusted to Miller Funeral Services, Inc.

Solomon Craig

Homegoing Service for brother Solomon Craig will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at 12 p.m. at

Spring Hill Baptist Church,

Jones, Ala. with Pastor Charles Franklin officiating.

Bro. Solomon Craig was born July 31, 1938, to the late Wiley Howard and Jeanetta Craig. He confessed Christ at an early age, and became a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church.

He departed this life Wednesday, July 15 at 9:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Demarcus Craig. He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters Carol Craig (Larry), Evon Craig, Ann Jenkins (Greg), one son, Solomon Craig Jr., all of Birmingham, Ala., seven grandchildren, two sisters, Sarah Well Craig of Chicago, Ill., Willie Mae Rembert of Selma, Ala., two brothers, Henry Hall (Rosalyn) of Brooklyn, N. Y., Issac Mixon (Ruby) of Selma, Ala., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
