Commission Chairman Kim Ballard announced Wilson’s career move at the July 23 commission meeting.

Wilson attended her last County Commission meeting Monday and gave her last report.

“Sadly, this will be Nancy’s last one,” Ballard said. “Congratulations, Nancy. We’re going to miss your abilities.”

Wilson has handled the county’s budget, equipment purchasing and replacement and served as a liaison.

Commissioner Roy Moore said hiring Wilson was “one of the best moves we’ve made.”

“I really appreciate Nancy,” Moore said.

The other commissioners nodded their heads in agreement.

“Nancy has kept us in line in terms of our budget and has always done some outstanding work for Dallas County,” Commissioner Curtis Williams said.

After giving her report, Wilson thanked the commission for supporting her during her tenure.

“It’s been a real pleasure and I’m proud to say I’ve worked for the Dallas County Commission,” Wilson said.

Wilson went on to complement the men on the professional way they have handled themselves as county officials and “in my opinion, have tried to do what’s best for the citizens in Dallas County.”

“I’m proud to say I’ve been a part of it.”
