Wilkerson III

Arthur Foster Wilkerson III, age 67, of Prattville, Ala., died Aug. 12, 2007, at his residence.

He was born May 26, 1940, in Selma.

He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Arthur Foster Wilkerson Jr. and Louise MacLeod Wilkerson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Stella Bettis Wilkerson of Prattville, Ala.; two sons, Arthur Foster Wilkerson IV and wife Carmen P. Wilkerson of Prattville, Ala., and John MacLeod Wilkerson and wife Toni S. Wilkerson of Prattville, Ala.; one sister, Virginia Wilkerson Mullins of Daphne, Ala.; one niece, Louise M. Wackerman and husband Joe of Seattle, Wash.; and four special grandchildren, Apple Katherine Wilkerson, Mary Louise Wilkerson, Alexander Foster Wilkerson and John Corey Wilkerson, all of Prattville, Ala.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Marion Military Institute Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007.

A funeral with full military honors will follow at the chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Thornton and Colonel James H. Benson officiating and Kirk Funeral Home Marion Chapel directing. Burial will follow at Marion City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Marion Military Institute Foundation, 1101 Washington Street, Marion, Ala., 36756.

Honorary pallbearers will be Col. John Gibler, Irby Pope, Chris Skinner, Al Booth, Herbie Johnson, Mac Clark, George Watkins, Keith Kuzma, Mike Langley and the Autauga County Republican Club.

Julia Luker

Julia &8220;Sis&8221; Luker, age 87, a homemaker, former of Voorhees, New Jersey and a resident of Camden, Ala., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at her home. She was born on July 20, 1920 in Delair, N.J.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville, Ala., and a former member of St. Cecilia Church in Delair, New Jersey.

Visitation will be at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, Ala., on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Raughton and the Rev. Chris Kynard officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville, Ala.

She is survived by four sons, Clinton (Phyllis) Powell of Pensacola, Fla., William Luker Jr. of Nauvoo, Ala., Edward Luker of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jeff (Cheryl) Luker of Grove Hill, Ala.; two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Mullan of Berlin, N.J., and Gladys (Paul) Luker of Camden, Ala.; two brothers, Allen (Dotsie) Weber of Pennsauken, N.J. and James (Marion) Weber of Denver, North Carolina; one sister, Joan Jones of Virginia Beach, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Mullan Jr., Billy Luker III, Bradley Luker, Paul Luker, Andy Wilkerson and Joe Powell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Southern Care Hospice and Helen Franklin.
