DAV provides free services

The local Disabled Veteran Service is encouraging residents to call its office for information on benefits. They also remind residents that there is never a fee or any type of compensation in order for veterans to get assistance.

Veterans and their spouses should ask to see a certification from anyone claiming to be from a DAV agency.

The mission of the DAV is &8220;providing free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies of government.&8221;

The DAV office is located on King’s Bend Road. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month.
