Double dippers wasting tax money

To the Editor:

My Granddaddy used to say “if you can’t find anything nice to say, drip it in sarcasm.” He was a very wise man, so I will try to use his advice.

Mr. Leashore and other councilpersons that are double dipping into the pockets of Selma taxpayers by being on the water board, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for once again spending our hard-earned money in yet another silly lawsuit.

Thank you for ignoring the fact that if Dr. Allen would have failed to vote, she still would have won by 4 to 3.

We the hard working citizens of Selma feel it is very important to keep the court system burdened down by frivolous lawsuits brought on by city officials that fail to get their way. I mean how dare Dr. Allen refuse a salary! Lord help us when a politician doesn’t want to get paid to do her civic duty!

This truly will lead to anarchy!

We also want to thank you for pointing out how disruptive Dr. Allen can be. She has kept in the dark so much by acting with class and dignity at the council meetings.

We would have never guessed she could have outrageous behavior like your colleague Ms. Crenshaw has during every council meeting.

From your lawyers’ motion to vacate the court’s previous motion, we see that you, Mr. Leashore stated that seven people showed up declaring to have voting power when Alabama state law states that only five are allowed. Let’s see if we can do the math shall we? We have four members that are not in dispute and two that showed up that are.

The first graders are getting it wrong! Four plus two is seven not six! Boy Mr. Leashore, thank you for pointing this out! Can you run the school board as well? Oh my, sorry it is not a paid position.

Now that I can no longer stomach any more sarcasm, please let me state this. Dr. Allen, many of us in Selma cannot afford much, but we are willing to help you with your attorney fees.

Many of us would be glad to help you stop the strong-arming certain city leaders are doing to our community.
