To the Editor:

I am in the process of doing research of my family, including William Burrell Huggins, who was born in 1826 and died after 1870.

He was my great-great-great-great grandfather. I am looking for some descendants who still live in the area.

His wife, Jane Majors Huggins, was buried in New Hope Cemetery in Carroll, Miss. She was born in 1831 in Dallas County. She died in 1916.

In all of my research, I can’t find any information on William Burrell Huggins (Hugens) after the 1870 census in Leake County, Miss.

I came across a note on his marriage, however. He and Jane Majors applied for a marriage license on April 16, 1853, and were married by the justice of the peace.
