Cynthia M. Coleman
Cynthia M. Coleman passed away July 9, 2007. Ms. Coleman was a graduate of the Selma School System. After completing Selma High School, she continued her education at Samford University in Birmingham, AL where she earned her nursing degree from the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford. After working many years at several hospitals in the Birmingham area, she returned to Selma, AL, where she later passed after her brief illness.
Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. C.A. Lett, Pastor, Rev. John H. William eulogy. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery directed by Miller’s Funeral Service.
Her survivors include: mother, Johnnie Hale Coleman; one sister, Stella Coleman, both of Marion Jct., AL., two brothers, Jerry H. Coleman, Jr. (Lindsay) of Cibolo, Texas; SFC John F. Coleman, U.S. ARMY; one niece, Regine Coleman of Chesapeake, Virginia; several aunts, uncles, and a host of devoted cousins and friends.
William Oliver
William Oliver, age 81, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at a Montgomery hospital. Graveside services was held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 at Pineview Memory Gardens with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Oliver is survived by his daughter, Billie Jo Eiland and her husband Barry, grandchildren, Austin Eiland, Chris Lombardi, Jamie Eiland, Jeffrey Eiland, Jeffrey Eiland, and brother, John Wayne Oliver. He is also survived by his nieces, Hope Hill, Barbara Ann White, Tammy Bobo, Sonya Stewart, Michelle Manning, sisters-in-law, Margie Crump, Aline Goudeau, Mae Stokes, and brother-in-law, Robert Boutwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Oliver, brother, Herbert Oliver, and sister, Inez Thompson. Serving as pallbearers were Mark Bobo, Jeffrey Eiland, Jamie Eiland, Chris Lombardi, and Stephen Murphy. Family visitation was be held Thursday from

p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Julia McKnight Killings
Mrs. Julia McKnight Killings, age 86 of Coatopa, Alabama passed July 9, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2007, at 2:30 p.p. at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama.
Rev. Floyd Bell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Coatopa, Alabama.
The remains will repose at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.p.
Public viewing will be held Saturday from 3-6 p.m.

Betty Grace Seale Scarsbrook, age 85, a life long resident of Selma, AL., went home to be with the Lord, Friday July 13, 2007, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkdale Baptist
Church with Rev. Guy Anderson officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Orrville cemetery.
Mrs. Scarsbrook is survived by her children,
William Scarsbrook, III (Charlotte, deceased) of Oak Ridge, TN, Jerry (Bonnie) Scarsbrook, Fort Myers, FL.,
Phil (Jane) Scarsbrook, Montgomery; her grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Bailey, Deana (Jeff) Henn, Vincent (Kris) Scarsbrook, Andrea Burt, Julie (Darrel) Craig, David Ward; six great grandchildren, Alex, Trysten and Samantha Burt; Christian, Matthew and Morgan Scarsbrook.
She is also survived by one sister, Jeroline Bell of
Greenville, AL.
She was a devoted member of Elkdale Baptist Church. She managed the business offices of various automobile dealerships in Selma for almost 50 years.
She lived at &8220;Angels For The Elderly&8221; in Montgomery for the past three years.

Mr. Kennedy Armstrong, 42, of Coatopa, Alabama passed July 10, 2007 at Greene County Hospital, Eutaw, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 16, 2007, at 12 Noon at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church, Coatopa, Ala.

William E. Stone
William E. Stone, 68, died at his residence on Saturday, July 14, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be held Monday, July 16, 2007, at the Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Wright and Rev. John Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow in Sprott, AL at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mr. Stone is survived by his sisters, Myrtle Taylor, Ernestine Worrell, Minnie Vinson, Angerine (Charles) Hughey, Elodean (Arnold) Vinson, Martha (Jimmy) Pugh, Verna (Harley) Harrison, and by his brother, James (Patricia) Stone. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Cliffie Stone and by his brother, Robert Claude Stone.
