New resident says thanks

To the Editor:
I relocated to Safford, Ala., on Memorial Day 2007.
My husband decided to raise beef cattle.
I literally live in the middle of a pasture; it has been a culture shock, to say the least.
The softening blow has been the wonderful hospitality the folks of Selma and Dallas County have shown me.
I’m working on directions and have been lost several times. I discovered if I ask directions, folks say “let me lead you there.”
These acts of kindness have been from black and white alike.
Selma may have its issues, but lack of kindness to new neighbors isn’t one of them.
Thank you again for your kindness.
