Summer fun keeps children active

Parents are always looking for activities to keep their children active during the summer months.
The children of Selma and the surrounding area are fortunate to have many summer programs available in which they can participate.
The Selma-Dallas County Public Library has its children’s programs running full steam in the summer, with special guests, arts and crafts and, of course, incentives to read.
The city of Selma Ceramics Arts Program is underway and the YMCA offers a variety of activities, including programs at Camp Grist &045; some of which will be held during the month of July.
The city school system also offers summer programs at some of its campuses that can keep children’s minds active while they are out of school.
Churches throughout the area offer Vacation Bible Schools, many of which have already been held.
Of course, many youth participate in the city of Selma recreation department programs, which are now winding down.
These programs &045; as well as many others that are not mentioned &045; help keep children physically and mentally active during the long days of summer. Thank you to those who offer opportunities for our children.
