Two local teens find the treasure

Two local teens, Jacob Gresham and Daniel Smith, received the $1,000 booty after discovering the treasure in The Selma Times-Journal’s hunt.

The promotion began June 1 with clues being placed in the newspaper and at sponsoring businesses.

Gresham and Smith found the treasure at the monument on Water Avenue commemorating the agreement between Jean Baptiste De Moyne Siuer De Bienville, governor of the province, and natives in the area.

The following clues had been given:

You must explore if it is the treasure you adore.

No tools are needed to find the treasure, just a lot of looking and some good luck for extra measure.

Fast food, shopping centers and malls are nowhere to be found when you really begin looking around.

But, don’t get discouraged. Another treasure hunt is on. Check Sunday, Wednesday and Friday issues of The Times-Journal for more clues.
