A Dallas County man was robbed Friday evening in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Afterwards, he told police an armed gunman asked him for the time, distracting him, then the robber forced his way into the man’s vehicle and told him to &8220;go for a ride.&8221;

Daniel Eli Cheskie, 28, was forced to drive across Earl Goodwin Parkway to the Selma Mall parking lot at approximately 4:20 p.m. and handed the gunman his wallet, according to police reports. The gunman took $137 from Cheskie’s wallet and threw it back at him.

Once the robber, a black male, exited the vehicle he fired a shot into the rear passenger door of the Cheskie’s vehicle, got into a trailing GMC Sonoma pickup and fled. Cheskie was not injured during the incident, according to police reports.
