C.F. Roling

C.F. Roling of Troy, Ala., died at his home Friday, May 11, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Dr. Ellis Bush and Dr. Ed Walter officiating. Interment will follow in Orion Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM.

Mr. Roling was born August 24, 1928 in Pike County.

He served in the Korean Conflict, graduated from Troy University with a degree in business.

Mr. Roling and his father were active farmers, cattlemen and businessmen in the Orion community.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy.

Preceding him in death were his parents C.F. Roling, Sr. and Florence Chancey Roling.

Survivors include his wife Ellen Miller Roling; one son, Keith Roling of Orion; one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Bill Holland of Valdosta, Georgia; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Haley Jane Holland; one grandson, William Holland of Valdosta; one sister, Margaret Roling Griffin of Selma; several nieces and nephews; long time friends Joyce and Raymon Austin, John Canada, Sara Lee and Donal Dunbar, Nell and Helton Fowler, Edna and Ervin Pinckard, Allene and Jerry Snider and Jane and Alex Whaley.

Serving as active pallbearers are Jeff Bentley, Steve Flowers, Scott Flowers, Wayne Grant, David Griffin, and Art Scroggins.

Honorary pallbearers are Carvell Anderson, Homer Anderson, Raymon Austin, Joe Bush, Clemont Carpenter, Haley Grant, John Harvell, Randolph Johnston, Veryl Lassiter, Dr. John Long, Charles Meeks, Densby Lowery, Chase Riddle, Ira Thompson, Jerry Snider, Peter Young and members of the Baracca Class of First Baptist Church.

Special thanks go to Dr. Alan Young and staff; Wiregrass Hospice and sitters, Helen T. Mosley, Fannie Green Croswell, and Katie Green Potts also Linda Floyd and the Trust Department at Troy Bank and Trust.

Rosie Lee Watts

Rose Lee Watts, age 65, died May 9, 2007.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Little Rock Baptist Church with Rev. S.M. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Alex Watts; two sons, Shecoma Watts and Arthur Sturdivant; five daughters, Leola Sturdivant, Mary Wrenn, Ruby Sturdivant, Jackie Sturdivant and Hattie Hale; one brother, Tommy Haynes; and a host of grandchildren, nephews and neices.
