Celebrate freedom to disagree

To the Editor:

The freedom of speech is not based on the whether you agree with what is being spoken. If you do like what is being said you have the freedom to listen.

If you do not agree then you can turn the dial, flip to another channel or just disagree with the point of view being stated.

Do we really want a system where we can only speak what is politically correct? Do we really want to limit the freedom of speech only to what we want to hear? Do we only want to hear views that tickle our ears or make us happy? The fact that we have the freedom to disagree and not everyone having the same views is one of our strengths as a nation and a people.
