Claude Danvis Ezell

Claude Danvis Ezell, 83, a resident of Pine Apple, Ala., passed away April 23, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., at Friendship Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Potts, Rev. Glen Smith, and Rev. William Earnest officiating.

Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., at Cokes Chapel Cemetery in Ward, Ala.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Moore Academy in Pine Apple, Ala., from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

He was born on October 17, 1923 in Ward, Ala.

Claude was the son of late Claude Gilmore Ezell and Frederica Danvis Ezell.

He was the eldest of three siblings, Anna Elizabeth Sutton, Edwina Meador and Edwin Ezell.

Claude graduated valedictorian from Ward High School.

He then was drafted to serve in the United States Signal Corp in the European Theatre in WWII.

After the war he enrolled in Livingston University where he received his undergraduate degree and then he attended the University of Alabama where he earned his Master’s Degree.

Claude began his career in education as a coach at Dallas County High School and finally he finished his long career in education as the Principal of Moore Academy in Pine Apple, where he retired after 24 years in that position.

He has continued to serve the Wilcox County community as a member of the County School Board of 18 years.

Claude was a deacon of Friendship Baptist Church.

Claude is survived by his wife Mary Ann Hughes Ezell of 46 years; daughter, Shelley Ann Ezell Miller; son-in-law, Paul D. Miller; two granddaughters, Mary Katherine and Elizabeth Ann Miller; grandson, Walter Paul Ezell Miller; his three siblings and four nephews and twelve nieces.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to University of West Alabama, Wilcox County Alumni Scholarship Fund, Livingston, Ala.

Jane Henry Boley

Jane Henry Boley of Corpus Christi, Texas and former long resident of Snyder, Texas went home to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ Saturday, April 14, 2007 after a brief illness.

Her great passion in life was serving her Lord and Master Jesus Christ and fulfilling her role as a wife and mother.

She worked as a cake decorator for Lawrence IGA in Snyder for over 16 years.

Mrs. Boley was born June 2, 1934 in Pleasant Hill, Alabama and she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Alton Boley, and a brother, Watt Henry.

Survivors include: five children, Ronald Boley (Vickie) of Big Springs, Texas, Karen Harris (Chris) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sandra Perrodin (Ricky) of Springdale, Arkansas, Thomas Boley (Brenda) of Snyder, Texas, Steven Boley (Trudy) of Round Rock, Texas. Survivors include: five grandchildren, Crystal Harris, Pamela Boley, Jonathan Perrodin, Sarah Boley, Kristen Wharton, Hallie Wharton, and Brandon Boley.

Survivors include: four sisters, Shirley Smiley of Montgomery, Alabama, Dorothy Lang of Pleasant Hill, Alabama, Nikki Grindle of Sardis, Alabama and Cecile Simmons of Pleasant Hill, Alabama.

Memorial service and funeral arrangements were held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 under the directing of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Wofford officiating.

Victor Darden Tucker

Victor Darden Tucker, age 58, of Pensacola, Florida died April 22, 2007 at home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m.

Thursday April 26, 2007 at New Live Oak Cemetery directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Darden Tucker, of Selma and numerous cousins.

Martha Code

Mrs. Martha Code, age 90, of Marion, Ala., died April 20, 2007 in the Perry County Nursing Home, Marion, Ala.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Lee and Rollins Funeral Home.
