Mr. David Scales, age 91, of Coatopa, Alabama passed April 17, 2007 in Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dugg Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Coatopa, Alabama. Interment

Troy Jerome &8220;Joe&8221; Sims of

New Orleans, Louisiana, formerly of Selma, Alabama passed away on April 18, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Sims; a son Troy Jerome Sims, Jr.; and a sister, Jennifer Sims.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Barnett; son James Sims; daughter Mary Jo Sims; brothers Bobby Barnett (LaJuana); David Barnett; Mike Sims (Sharon); and Kirk Sims (Doshia); and sisters Donna Sims Gardner (Ray); Allison Sims Tapley; Wynona Sims Kynard (Andy); Kelly Sims Holley (Bubba); Becky Barnett Anderson (Barry) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Selma Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Wyatt officiating.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Calvin C. Elam born June 4, 1927, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at the age of 79. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Jim Parker officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday April 22, 2007 from 2:00 &110; 2:45 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Archie Elam, son; Ernest Calvin Elam, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, and special nephew John Covey Capell. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Ernestine Elam, daughter; Sylvia Elam Zeigler & her husband Dr. Stephen M. Zeigler, Sisters; Freddie Shirley, Marlene Suther and Jo Anne Pardue, also numerous nieces, nephews and a number of friends.

Pallbearers will be friends; Ralph Friday, Cecil Strickland, Sam Williams, and nephews; John A. Covey, Greg Capell, Chris Capell and Wayne Dubose. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
