Sloane named advertising director for Selma Newspapers, Inc.

Erica Slone has been named advertising director of Selma Newspapers, Inc., which publishes The Selma Times-Journal, Dollar Saver and the Web site selmatimesjournal.com.

A Kentucky native and graduate of Morehead State University where she received a degree in education, Slone comes to Selma Newspapers after having served in various roles with Heartland Publications the past three years, the most recent being marketing director for The Hazard (Ky.) Herald.

“Erica is a very impressive individual who has had great success in the print media industry,” said Selma Newspaper’s President Dennis Palmer. “She understands the importance of serving the customer and how crucial the link is between advertisers and the newspaper and the newspaper and the community. She is an excellent addition to our staff and more so to the community the newspaper serves.”

Slone earned numerous awards for her advertising work from the Kentucky Press Association and is a member of the Hazard Lion’s Club. She also actively participated in events such as the Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity and is a member of the Women’s Republican Party of Floyd County, Ky.

“It is so exciting to be joining the Selma Times-Journal family,” Slone said. “I look forward to sharing my experience in advertising with our clients and staff and cannot wait to become involved with the different organizations Selma has to offer. Selma is a beautiful town, with inviting friendly faces and I look forward to meeting everyone.

Slone begins work in Selma Monday.
