Petty theft: Selma man arrested, charged

A Selma man was arrested and charged with theft of property third degree for his heist of the Dollar General on Highland Avenue.

Eddie James Brown, 45, of 2717 Griffin Ave., was booked and placed in jail for the crime. Brown was released on $500 bond for his Wednesday afternoon caper, when he attempted to steal 14 cans of deodorant, assorted candy and honey buns, and eight boxes of Crunch ‘N Munch, according to police reports.

Selma Police are searching for suspects in two other break-ins over the past week. Pamela King of 1090 Rangedale Apartments Annex, called police Wednesday when she discovered her computer, flat screen, hard drive, printer and DVD player were taken from her apartment.

Investigators are also looking into recent break-ins of the Valley Grande Pharmacy and Dallas Avenue Pharmacy, where an undetermined amount of merchandise was taken during each incident. No further details were given.
