Helen Holladay Chance

Helen Holladay Chance passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007 at her residence.

Surviving are her son, Robert Gordon Chance and his wife Charmaine, two daughters, Vickie Lynn Pickering and her husband Floyd &8220;Dunk&8221; and Christine Harris and her husband Henry; grandchildren, Brendan Chance and his wife Jenny, Christa Chance, Henry Harris III, Lauren Harris and Helen Grace Harris.

Mrs. Chance is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest G. Chance.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Selma Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be &8220;Dunk&8221; Pickering, Ken Schroeder, Glenn Sexton, Sonny Smith, Wheeler Chance and Henry Harris.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Houston Park Church of Christ or Cahaba Hospice.

Ola Mary Blevins

Ola Mary Blevins, age 76, of Selma went to the Lord surrounded by her family, Friday, March 30, 2007.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at Queen of Peace Church with Fa. Carroll Plourde officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Donald Blevins of Selma, children, Terri Duehring (Craig) of Fairfax Station, VA, Rick Blevins, Jr. (Pat) of Orange Beach, Kathy Lenoir (Steve) of Maplesville, and Joe Blevins (Wanda) of Phenix City.

Mrs. Blevins is also survived by her grandchildren, Angelyn, Tricia, Dale, Craig, Bayne, Tyler, Hailey, and Bret, great-grandchildren, Addison and Anna Presley, sister, Kay Stickney (R.J.) of Colorado, and nieces Nikki and Kelly.

Mrs. Blevins devoted her life to the Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Women’s Club, and Church Choir.

Her passions were the Atlanta Braves and Bingo.

Ola Blevins worked 27 years for the American Red Cross coordinating Project Share.

Mayor Joe T. Smitherman honored her with &8220;Ola Blevins Day&8221; when she retired from the American Red Cross.

She was entered into the Book of Golden Deeds by the Selma Exchange Club and was a recipient of the Papal Medal.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

As an alternative to flowers the family request donations to the American Red Cross.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 Sunday at the funeral home.

Michael Wade

Michael Wade, age 56, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 28, 2007.

Funeral Services are Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 1:00 at Miller Funeral Chapel.

Burial will follow at Fairlawn Memory Garden with Miller Funeral Services directing.

Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two brothers, Charles (Sabrina) Wade and Jeff (Daisy) Wade, all of Selma, Ala.

He is also survived by three aunts, Eluira Smith, Lue Mae Reeves, Louisa Reeves, one uncle, Burl Reeves, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

Rosia Lucinda Burrell

Rosia Lucinda Burrell, age 73, resident of Selma, Alabama, passed away March 24, 2007 at Jackson Hospital.

Funeral Services are March 31, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at Boiling Spring Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Lathan Burrell.

Burial will follow in Bethel AME Cemetery,

directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, Melvin James Burrell, two brothers, Arthur Burrell, Sr., and Walter Burrell, five sisters, Inella Jackson, Eva Alexander, Lillian Mayfield, Amanda Lucy, Ardrilla McCrear, three grandchildren and one daughter-in-law.

Ms. Donnie Heard

Ms. Donnie Heard, age 35, resident of Marion, Ala., passed away March 30, 2007 at DCH Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Services.
