Master Bryce Alan Rodgers

Master Bryce Alan Rodgers, 3, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007.

Chapel services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Mitchell and Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 28, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Master Bryce Alan Rodgers is survived by his parents, Michael and Dawn Rodgers of Greenville, Ala.; brothers, Tristen Stinson and Keller Rodgers of Greenville, Ala.; maternal grandmother, Janice Kennedy of Wetumpka, Ala.; maternal grandfather, Jack Small of Greenville, Ala.; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Small of Selma and Marie Bearden of Selma; paternal grandfather Jimmy Rodgers of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Mary (Maryland) Shagat

Mary (Maryland) Shagat, born Aug. 12, 1921, died on March 25, 2007, at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa after a long illness.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home on Thursday, March 29.

Burial will be at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Preceding her in death were her two brothers, Verbal Lee Jones and Johnny Jones and her sister, Jane Elizabeth Cobb.

Survivors are her cousin, Edna Wiley of Cottondale, Ala., who was a constant companion staying by her side during her last days; her two nieces, Jerri Ann Messner (Gerald) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Sharon Coulter James (Thomas) of Greensboro, N.C.; three grand nephews:

Brad Messner, Brian Coulter and Brendan Coulter; grand niece, Jamie Messner Ledbetter; great grand nephews, Logan Ledbetter, Langdon Ledbetter and Grayson Coulter and a great grand niece Madison Jane Coulter.

Besides her family she leaves a host of dear friends that were very special to her throughout her life.

The family would like to especially thank Lela Griffith, her neighbor and long time friend for her care and support of Ms. Shagat during her long illness.

She was born in Tuscaloosa and moved to Selma in 1951.

Most recently she was a member of the Selma Water Board.

Pallbearers will be Gary Wylie, Robert Morgan, Daryl Griffin, Cecil Moton, Tom James and James Wilson.
