C. B. Simmons

Clarence Brady Simmons, 82, of Orrville, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at a local VA Hospital.

The funeral service was held Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Heiberger.

Burial followed at Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Simmons was born on April 14, 1924 in Perry County to the late Auburn L. Simmons and the late Mary Ellen Simmons.

He was a truck driver and commercial fisherman.

He was a loving son, husband, father and brother.

He is preceded in death by a loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn New Simmons; son, Donnie Tidwell and two grandchildren.

He is survived by six children, Robert Wayne (Judy) Simmons of Selma, Joyce Craft of Calera, Anita Martin (Melvin) of Columbiana, Phillip Simmons (Shirley) of Calera, Nancy Campbell (Travis) of Jemison, Deborah Averette (David) of Columbiana; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Smith of Hueytown; brother, Ben Simmons (Karen) of Plantersville and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directed.

James D. “Doug” Brown

James D. “Doug” Brown, age 63, of Selma died Saturday, March 24, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Aldridge officiating.

Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Katie Harris Brown, sons, Greg Brown of Selma, and Lance (Sandi) Brown of Montgomery, and grandson, Owen Brown.

He is also survived by a brother, Richmond (Laura Frances) Brown of Arley, Ala., sisters, Kathleen (Herbert) Milligan of Samantha, Ala., and Margaret (Jimmy) Henderson of Cottondale, Ala.

Mr. Brown was a long time active member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elk – Selma Lodge 67.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Harris, Randolph Robinson, Joe Lightsey, Jerry Tolbert, Bob McCasters, George Crum, Gary Burden, and Richmond Brown.

Mr. George Edwards

Mr. George Edwards, age 58, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 25, 2007 at his home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service.

Barney Sewell

Barney Sewell, age 76, of Selma, passed away March 26, 2007.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his sister, Ollie Arnold and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hugh Shannon, age 88, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 25, 2007 at Vaughan Regional Hospital.

Mr. Marvin Harris, age 93, resident of Plantersville, Ala., passed away March 25, 2007 at his home.

Estella Weston Moore

Mrs. Estella Weston Moore, age 89 of Forkland, Ala., passed March 25, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the Old Greene Oak Baptist Church, Forkland, Ala.

Rev. Johnny R. Lewis will officiate.

Interment will follow in Longin Cemetery, Forkland, Ala.

Robert Watts

Robert Watts, age 56, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 24, 2007 at his home.

Funeral services are Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Community M. Church with Rev. Paul Coleman officiating.

Burial will follow in Zion M. P. Church Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Mr. Watts is survived by five brothers, John Watts, Mack Watts, Charlie Watts, Gene Watts, Raymond Phillips, two sisters, Bertha Garner, Mary Watts, one brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Church Family and friends.
