Dorothy Faye Lewis

Ms. Dorothy Faye Lewis, age 51, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 18, 2007 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham, Ala.

Funeral Services are Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Coleman, Jr. officiating.

Ms. Lewis is survived by her mother, Mrs. Julia M. Lewis, two sons, Lawrence Towns, Jr. and Ryan Rashad Washington, two grandchildren, Artarious and Sequera, a Goddaughter, Crystal Varner Blackmon, one aunt, Bernice Lewis, one uncle, Morgan Lewis, Sr., three brothers, Willie Lewis, Michael Lewis, and Bennie (Lisa) Lewis, three sisters, Loretta (John) Harrell, Patricia (William) Lewis, and Carolyn (John) Ratcliffe, her dear friend, Darlene Beavers, nieces; Erica, Melanie, Stephanie, Lashanda, Zarinah, Jackie, Tracie, ten nephews; John H. Terry, Devin, Dawud, Hakim, Donald, Cliff, Bennie Jr., John R. and Nile, six great nieces and five great nephews.

Pallbearers are David Carter, Terry Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Gregory Trusty, Terry Williams, Timothy Carter, Dexter Hatcher, and Jeff Moore.

Estherlene Chrishon

Estherlene Mack Lanier Chrishon, age 90, of Richmond, (Dallas County), Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

She taught in the Dallas County School System for 31 years before retiring.

Mrs. Chrishon touched the lives of many throughout the Dallas County community, both from her professional career as a teacher and also her active participation in the African Methodist Episcopal Church of which she was a member.

Her civic and professional memberships included the Alabama Education Association, National Education Association, Selma-Dallas Retired Teachers Association, and past member of Alpha Gamma Chapter, Gamma Phi Delta Sorority.

She is survived by one brother, William H. Mack, one niece, Ernestine M. Marshall, both of Birmingham, Ala., three nephews, Dr. William H. Mack (Claudia) of Houston, Texas, Ulysses B. Mack, of Atlanta, GA., Calvin Grayson of Chicago, Ill., and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Campbell Chapel AME Church in Richmond, Ala., with Reverend Micah Perry officiating.

Lewis Brothers Funeral Home of Selma, Ala. is in charge of the arrangements.

Eddie Hatcher, Sr.

Eddie Hatcher, Sr., age 80, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 16, 2007 at Shelby County Nursing Home.

Funeral Services are March 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Horace Williams officiating.

Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. directing.

Mamie Lee Earies

Ms. Mamie Lee Earies, age 76, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 15, 2007 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services are Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Sandridge Baptist Church with Pastor Jessie Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Sandridge Cemetery with Miller Funeral Services directing.

Lucy L. Green

Lucy Lee Bell (Coleman) Green was born May 1, 1936 in Orrville, Ala., the daughter of the late Henry and Lily Vinnie (Jackson) Bell.

Lucy confessed Christ at an early age, at Provident Missionary Baptist Church; she then married the late Robert Coleman and relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958.

After moving to Cincinnati, she joined New St. Paul Baptist Church.

She later married the late Arthur Lee Green, (April 1, 1974) then became a member of what is now Front Street Church of God.

Lucy slept away into the arms of the Lord on March 8, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Preceded her in death were her parents, her husband (Arthur), her brothers Phillip and Anninas Bell, sisters Mary Lily (Bell) Mosley, and Susie Lewis.

Not mourning her death, but celebrating her life and precious memories are:

Mamie and Andrew Bell, Robin, Clemon, Reginald, Donald Coleman and Sue Heard, Paul, Elaine, Doris Ann, James (Donna), Desiree Green, nephew (adopted son) Elijah (Judy) Mosley, 41 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind siblings; two brothers, Henry Jr. and Tony Bell, and two sisters Ammie Bell Pritchett, Mable Crenshaw and Willie Mae Kemp, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins.

Funeral services were March 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio

with Pastor Peterson W. Mingo officiating, Pastor Jack Perkins, Eulogist and Interment at Vine Street Hill

Cemetery.

Hattie Purse Hinton

Mrs. Hattie Purse Hinton, age 83, of Demopolis, Ala., passed March 15, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama.

Rev. Honoree Lockett will officiate.

Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis, Ala.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m.

George Washington

George Washington, age 45, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away at a local hospital March 22, 2007.

Funeral Services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home, Inc.

Ida V. Williams

Mrs. Ida V. Williams, age 90, of Boligee, Ala., passed March 22, 2007 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Aliceville, Ala.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Succanoochie Cemetery, Boligee, Ala.

Rev. James Carter will officiate.

Brenda Gardner

Brenda Gardner, age 38, resident of Selma, Ala., passed away March 15, 2007 at Jackson Hospital.

Funeral Services are March 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Helping Hands Ministries Church, officiated by Pastor Ralph Edwards.

Burial will be in Zion MP Cemetery directed by Walker Mortuary.

Survivors are her parents William and Bessie Gardner and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Active pallbearers are her uncles and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers is the Class of 1989 Southside High.
