Our local high school, one of our elementary schools, and much of our town were destroyed by the tornado that hit on March 1.

We also lost eight of our best and brightest high school students in the disaster.

Two of the students, A.J. Jackson and Ryan Mohler, had just tried out and made the varsity cheerleading squad with our daughter, Cat.

Our community has faced a great deal of pain, however, this is a community with a bond and commitment stronger than I have ever experienced.

I am amazed every day by a story of caring and help.

I often check The Selma Times home page just to keep up with the local news and happenings, and read the story about Selma City Schools sending aid to the community and schools here in Enterprise.

I can’t tell you how proud I am that my home town is making such a contribution.

Bruce and I want to express our deepest thanks to everyone involved in initiating and contributing to this project. May God bless you all, and continue to keep Enterprise in your prayers.

Lynn E. Irwin
