Get ready to trade in your southern drawl for an Irish brogue.

On Thursday, March 15, the Tally-Ho will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day charity dinner from 5 &045;10 p.m. According to owner Bob Kelley, this is the twenty-fifth year &8220;the green&8221; from the dinner has gone to a local charity.

This is his way of giving back to the community.

According to Kelley, the event, combined with profits from the food sales the restaurant contributes, has raised between $100-200K.

The event has helped Tally-Ho make contributions to the March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, and the Selma Rotary Club. This year’s charity is SABRA Sanctuary.

SABRA Sanctuary provides shelter and assistance for abused women and their children.

Decorated by staff members from Tally Ho and the receiving local charity, the restaurant is transformed.

Staff members wear green hats and shamrocks, and green beverages will be served. There will even be a Leprechaun to greet diners at the door, according to Kelley.

And that’s not all. Town merchants have donated items for door prizes and auction.

According to Kelley, reservations are requested, but not necessary. The community is encouraged to &8220;come and have a great meal for a great cause.&8221;

St. Patrick’s Day is actually Saturday, March 17, but Kelley said, &8220;I think we have plenty of stuff going on during the weekend.&8221;

If you forget to wear something green, don’t worry about getting pinched. Kelley said staff members will be handing out green stickers and other green items.
