Janie M. Prichett
Janie M. Prichett, age 82, of Selma, AL died on February 14, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at West Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. A. Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing. She is survived by her spouse, Charles Prichett.
Sarah Bruce Strother
Sarah Bruce Strother died February 15, 2007. Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Gastonburg Cemetery at 2:00 pm with George McKee officiating.
Mrs. Strother was preceded in death by her husband Claude Chambers Strother and son Bruce Calvin Strother. Survivors include: son, Claude Strother, Jr. (Bettie) of Selma; daughter, Marjorie Overmyer (Don) of Linden; granddaughter, deAnn McGilberry, Catherine Custard, Leslie Culver, Sarah Perdue, and nine great grandchildren.
Dan Wilkerson, Billy Morton and grandsons-in-law Darren McGilberry, Sean Custard, Jon Culver and Bruce Perdue will serve as pallbearers.
Sarah Bruce was born April 10, 1971 to Martha Kendall and William Liddell Bruce of Catherine – just two miles from where she and Claude Strother built their home. She attended Camden High School where she frequently visited her sister Marjorie Sessions at her home on Clifton Street.
She earned her bachelor of arts from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia in May 1938 before returning home to marry Claude Strother.
Lately, her children have visited daily, her grandchildren frequently. She was blessed to die as she wished – peacefully at home. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to Sarah Marsh, her family, and Jo Gibson from Cahaba Hospice for their gentle and skilled care. They made possible her wish to remain at home.
Memorial may be made to Cahaba Hospice or a favorite charity.
Marion Towns
Marion Towns, age 56, of Montgomery, formerly of Pleasant Hill, passed February 15, 2007 at a Montgomery hospital. Final arrangements will be announced at a later date by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
Desa Wells
Desa Wells, age 47, of Sardis, AL died on February 15, 2007 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Sarah Dozier Blalock
Sarah Dozier Blalock, a native of Perry County and a resident of Mobile, died February 15, 2007 at age 85.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Q. Mozingo and Leroy Temple Blalock.
She is survived by her children, Louis (Kitty) Mozingo, Susan (Tom) Gilder and Steve Mozingo; one sister, Mrs. Evie Crisman, of Selma, AL; three grandchildren, Sarah Richardson, Kim Gilder and Russ Gilder; four great-grandchildren, four step-sons, Andrew, Tem, John and Peter Blalock.
Visitation will be from 10 A. M. until 11:30 A. M. on Monday, February 19, 2007 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, followed by graveside services at 12 Noon in the Mausoleum at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Infirmary Hospice.

David Maxwell
Boozer Sr.
David Maxwell Boozer Sr., who was born August 9, 1924 in Thomaston AL, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2007 after a short illness.
Visitation will be at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on Sunday February 18, 2007 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with the services on Monday February 19, 2007 at Fairview Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Parker officiating with internment afterward at New Live Oak Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly Ann Wall Boozer; four children Becky Boozer Caine (Gregg), David Boozer Jr. (Donna), Bobby Boozer (Sonya) and Marilyn Boozer Bullard (Ivan); nine grandchildren Paige Caine Farrish (Phillip), Averee Caine Reed (Matt), Taylor Boozer Hatchett (Jeremy), Whitney, Jacob and Morgan Boozer, Caleb, Joshua and Mattie Bullard; three great-granddaughters: Georgia and Julia Farrish, Rebecca Reed; two brothers Melvin (Eunice) Boozer and Billy Boozer; two sisters, Frances Kotis and Julia Reed, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Richard and Mattie Griffith Boozer; siblings James Boozer, Fred Boozer and Virginia Boozer Cosby.
After serving in the Navy during WW II, David worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and served faithfully for many years as a deacon and in other capacities.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ellison, Bud English, Kim Ballard, Glynn Stewart, Hank Williams, and Charlie Worrell
Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Speir, Billy Peavy, Francis Waters, Sol Tepper, Webb Hughes, Bill Mott, Jimmy Davis, and Bob Hollis.
