Visit with Shelby

Published 12:00 am Monday, February 12, 2007

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby will make his annual visit to Dallas County this Saturday.

This is your opportunity to hear his thoughts on matters of national interest, as well as ask questions, and give your two cents’ worth.

Shelby will speak at a Dutch-treat luncheon at Beardan Cafeteria located at Craig Field, starting at noon.

We often wring our hands over the state of our union, feeling helpless – like we have no control over the actions that take place.

This is one opportunity local residents have to voice their opinions and concerns.

Speak up – whether it’s about the War in Iraq; Social Security; veteran’s benefits; the minimum wage increase; health insurance; or any other issue affecting you and your family. Let Shelby know what you think. After all, he does represent you in the U.S. Senate.

This will be the senator’s 1,375th county visit since being elected.

Whatever you might think about elected officials, here is one that at least makes an attempt to listen to his constituents.
