James Edward Whidby

James Edward Whidby, age 84 died Saturday, February 10, 2007, at Warren Manor Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at Orrville Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Harris and the Rev. Harold Lippert officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Whidby was a member of Safford Baptist Church.

Mr. Whidby was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Cheatham Givhan, his stepfather, Walter C. Givhan, and his sister, Helen W. Lyons.

Mr. Whidby is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Elizabeth W. Whidby of Safford: his daughter Nell (Jack) Mooney of Orrville; his son Jim (Bobbie) Whidby of Safford; four grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, two brothers, Sam P. (Lynn) Givhan of Safford; Walter H. (Jan) Givhan of Destin, Fla.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Givhan, Sam H. Givhan, Godfred Lyons, Marc Givhan, Bobby Price and Billy Morton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bebo Jones, Dr. John T. Moore Jr., Jack Adcox, Billy Plummer, Gene McHugh, Wayne Nickles, Clifford Sheehan, Dot Lott, Kit Pegues, Russell Foster, Mack Reese, and Claude Yoder.
