Mary Ruth ‘Edith’
Bamberg
Mary Ruth “Edith” Bamberg, 77, of Marion, died Feb. 8, 2007, at her son’s residence in Bessemer.
A service will be held Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Methodist Church. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Kirk Funeral Homes’ Marion Chapel.
Willilou Grubbs Butler
Willilou Grubbs Butler, 95, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Park Place Nursing Home in Selma.
Graveside services will be Monday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. George Sedberry and the Rev. Sandy Simmons officiating under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mrs. Butler was a graduate of Huntingdon College and taught school for many years. She served as president of the Selma Charity League and was a longtime member of Church Street United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Coleman Butler Jr., and by her brother, Dr. Roy James Grubbs Jr.
She is survived by her children, Roger D. Butler (Dolly) and Judy Butler Moore (Robert); her grandchildren, Doris Butler Truax (Jim), Katherine Moore Barranco (John David) and Julie Moore Griffith (Grant); and four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be John David Barranco, John A. Gray, Grant Griffith, Jim Grubbs, Jim Truax and Andrew Truax.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to a favorite charity.
Debra Ann De Silvia
Debra Ann De Silvia, 36, a resident of Clinton, Md., passed Feb. 4, 2007.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, from the Chapel of J.H. Williams & Sons with the Rev. Rodney Morton officiating.
Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.
Mary Pearl Barlow
Mary Pearl Barlow, age 76, of Selma, AL, passed away February 8, 2007.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 11, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chester Jernigan and the Rev. Art Hartley officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 10, 2007, 6-8:00 p.m.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Clarice) Barlow and Michael (Daisy) Barlow; two daughters, Juanita (Lawrence) Lister and Virginia Barlow Ruiz; one brother E. A. “Bunny” (Norma) Sample, Jr.; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded is death by her husband, Albert “Billy” Cecil Barlow and her parents, E. A. and Pearl Sample.
Pallbearers will be Scott Burt, Lawrence Lister, Devin Akers, James L. Small Jr., Michael Barlow Jr., and Bubba Adams.
