Doris Eugenia Jefferies Davis
Doris Eugenia Jefferies Davis, a native of Mobile, Alabama and long time resident of Selma, died Tuesday, February 6 in Mobile.
A devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother she was born on St. Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1917.
She was a 1938 graduate of the University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Blackfriars and was featured as a Corolla Beauty.
Her life was a celebration of her love for her family and her faith in God.
A talented artist, writer and avid gardener she was president of the Selma City Garden Club, the Selma West End Study Club and the Alabama Federated Garden Clubs.
Her long time interests also included the Daughters of the American Revolution, the University of Alabama and the First Presbyterian Church of Selma.
She was the daughter of Albert Beverly Walker Jefferies and Annie Madge Scott Jefferies and granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Bennett Jefferies and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Llewellyn Scott.
Her parents, her husband Frederick Lee Davis II and her son Frederick Lee Davis III preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister, Mabel Jefferies Card, daughter Beverly (Buffy) Davis Donlon (Robert), grandson Frederick Lee Davis IV, step-grandchildren Robert Michael Donlon, Janet Donlon Omainsky, Jeffrey Ross Donlon, Molly Donlon Lusian, Scott Davis and Candace Davis, step-great grandchildren Clayton Carter Omainsky and Hunter Davis Omainsky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10 at the First Presbyterian Church of Selma with graveside service following at Pineview Memorial Gardens conducted by Dr. Ron Stone and Dr. Cecil Williamson, with Lawrence Funeral Home, Selma, directing.
Pallbearers will be Beverly Jefferies Card Sr., Beverly Jefferies Card Jr., Robert Timothy Card, Donald Scott Jefferies, David Scott Jefferies, and Stephen Dixon Jefferies.
Memorials may be made to the Fred L. Davis Scholarship Fund of the Selma Quarterback Club or the First Presbyterian Church, Selma, Alabama.
Mr. Carl S. Williams
Mr. Carl S. Williams, age 71, of Selma, Ala. died on February 6, 2007 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service.
Mr. Ed Lewis
Mr. Ed Lewis, age 93, of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Jefferson, Alabama passed February 4, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Nursing Home, Pleasant Grove, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Edmond Charleston will officiate. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama.
The remains will repose at the church beginning at 12:00 noon.

Nettie Green
Nettie Green, age 75, of Selma died on February 4, 2007.
Funeral will be February 9, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: spouse, J.C. Green; three sons, five daughters, one sister, eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two sons-in-laws, two daughters-in-laws and one sister-in-law.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
