Mr. Harmon L. Howell, Jr.

Mr. Harmon L. Howell, Jr. of Briarwood Dr. in Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, January 27,2007 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 80.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday from the Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sam Tate and the Rev. Neal Caver officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Sunday night. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Howell was born December 13. 1926 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Harmon L. Howell, Sr. and Ethel Presley Howell. He served in the United States Navy until receiving a medical discharge. He worked as the general plant foreman at All-Lock where he was a supervisor for 36 years. Mr. Howell loved to fish and enjoyed work.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Earlean Howell, Enterprise; 6 daughters,

Darlene Day (Eddie), and Allyson Cook (Scott), both of Enterprise; Betty Sue Lawerence (Steve), Sandra Flournoy, Patrica Louis, Vivian Clems (Garry), and one son Rocky Howell all of Selma, AL. A brother, Frank Howell (Lena); 2 sisters, Eleanor Howell, and Frances Stone (Jac), all of Selma, AL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Elbert Smith, 73, of Selma died Jan. 26, 2007 at a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Mary Walls, 91, of Alberta, Ala. died Jan. 27, 2007 at a local nursing home.
