WCCS women take big victory at home

Vinecia Dudley poured in a game-high 24 points in Wallace-Selma’s 73-50 win over Alabama Southern Thursday night.
The Patriots’ defense shut the Eagles down, all the while going on several big scoring runs.
Down 5-0 early in the game, WCCS scored 10 unanswered points to account for the final lead change of the game. The Eagles scored 14 straight to end the first half with a 40-20 lead.
Showing no signs of letup after the intermission, WCCS went on a 21-0 tear to go ahead 62-36 with 12:35 left in the game.
ASCC broke up the stretch with a 14-1 run, by far its biggest of the game.
Tyeisha Nettles led the Eagles with 10 points and was the only ASCC player in double figures. An 11-4 run with two minutes left in the game cut WCCS’ lead to 71-47.
Michelle Cottrell added 14 points, and Ebony Jones had 12 for WCCS.
