Willie Bell Mitchell

Willie Bell Mitchell, age 86, of Sprott, Ala. died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Park Place Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January, 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt Pleasant Church with Rev. John Ackerman presiding. Interment will follow at Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church before the service.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Tenley of Deatsville, Ala.; two sons, Marion Franklin Mitchell of Sprott and Larry Mitchell of Centreville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Julia Waller

Julia Waller, age 67, of Orrville died January 12, 2007 in Mobile, Ala. Funeral arrangements will be announced later

by Walker Mortuary.

Evelyn Martin Snow

A memorial service for Evelyn Martin Snow, age 84, of Marion, Ala. will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, at the Marion Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Snow passed away on Saturday, January 13, at the Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, Ala. following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 22, 1922 in Plantersville, Ala. in Dallas County, the daughter of Dr. Thomas M. Martin and Stella Keahey Martin. Mrs. Snow graduated from Dallas County High School and attended Auburn University.

After marriage, the end of the World War II, and a period of residence in Auburn, Ala., she and her husband, Jack R. Snow settled in Perry County, where Mrs. Snow was very active in her community and a friend to the people of Marion. A member of Marion Presbyterian Church, she expressed her deep faith through Christian love and service.

She lived in Auburn as well as Marion for several years, after Mr. Snow took an associate professorship at Auburn University. Mrs. Snow had abiding love for Auburn University and the Auburn community.

Preceded in death by a young son, Robert, she is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack R. Snow, a daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Gillis of Baton Rouge, La., a son, Richard Snow of New Orleans, La.; a daughter, Marsha (Jan) Hinnen of Jackson’s Gap, Ala.; a daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Montgomery of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter, Anne (Rod) Duraski of LaGrange, Ga.; a daughter, Lynn Hazelrig of Birmingham, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation with family members will be Monday, Jan. 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Marion-Perry County Library and the Music Fund of the Marion Presbyterian Church.
