Irene G. Mayfield

Irene G. Mayfield, age 89, of Selma, died January 2, 2007 at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Queen of Peace Church with the Father Carroll Plourde officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, John H. Mayfield, Jr. of Selma; two daughters, Mary Jane Flurry of Montgomery and Charlotte Norton of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Gary, Alison, and Jennifer; and one great grandchild; sister, Leona Galearneau.

Mrs. Mayfield was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Mayfield, Sr.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

Mary A. Farmer, age 70, of Valley Grande, Ala., passed away January 1, 2007.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by one son, Roy (Lois) Farmer; two daughters, Patty (Roger) Nichols and Debbie (Tim) Breland; two brothers, Mac (Esther) Jones and Donald (Dollie) Jones; one sister, Mildred (Don) Belcher; seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Farmer and her parents, William L. and Lonice M. Jones.

Pallbearers will be Justin Blackmon, Don Jones, Curtis Farmer, Daryl Allday, Duke Brady and Don Belcher.
