Mrs. Harriet C. George, age 97, of Demopolis, Alabama passed on December 15, 2006 at Colonial Haven Healthcare in Greensboro, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the John the Baptist Church in Gallion, Alabama. Rev. Gerome Burrell will officiate.

The remains will repose at the church on Thursday beginning at 11:00 am.

Mary Alice Carter

Mary Alice Carter, age 60, of Selma died Tuesday December 19, 2006 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 21, 2006 at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Sardis officiated by Rev. Calvin Strickland and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc.

She is survived by her mother, Sallie S. Vinson, sister, Esther Ann Bacon, uncle, Grover W. (Mae) Sims of Birmingham, aunt, Alice S. Hardy of Thomasville.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Shiloh Baptist Church.

Otha Miles, age 84, of Marion, AL died on December 10, 2006 at his home.

Funeral will be Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Mt. Tabo AME Zion Church in Marion, AL. The pastor Rev. Ivory Bryant will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Fellowship Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.
