Arthur Lee Perry, Sr.

Arthur Lee Perry, Sr., age 51, of Montgomery, AL died on December 10, 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11:00 am at Phillips-Riley Chapel in Montgomery, AL. Brother Charles Graves will officiate.

Arthur Perry was born on July 24, 1955 in Autauga County to Willie J. Perry, Sr. and Alberta Young Perry. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Julia Perry; one son, Arthur Perry, Jr.; one daughter, Rashunda Perry; one grandson, Kyondre Hall; parents, Willie and Alberta Perry; six sisters, Willie Mae Williams of Selma, Mary (Johnnie) Howard of Autauga, Georgia Montgomery, Ethel (Henry) Robinson, Alberta Perry and Beverly Perry all of Selma; seven brothers, Willie (Gladys) Perry, Jr., Charles (Mary) Perry both of Autauga, Norman Perry, Steve Perry both of Selma, Raymond (Tammie) Perry of Chesapeake, VA, Anthony Perry of Autauga and Melvin Perry of Selma and a host of relatives and friends.

Rev. Willie E. Brown

Rev. Willie E. Brown, age 81, of Selma, died on December 8, 2006.

Funeral services are scheduled for December 16, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur L. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Brown; two sons, Rev. Milton E. Brown (Betty) and Anderson L. Brown (Georgie L.); one daughter, Beulah L. Brown; four brothers, Henry Fryson of Seaside, California, Rev. Willie Fryson of Dallas, Texas, Sammie L. Brown of Pensacola, Florida and Robert Brown of Tallassee, Ala.; two sisters, Darnell Small of Detroit and Viola Watts of Pensacola, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three daughter-in-laws; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Georgia Johnson

Mrs. Georgia Johnson, age 77, of Demopolis, Alabama died on December 11, 2006 in Gadsden, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Morning Star Baptist church in Bellamy, Alabama with Rev. Robert E. Pearce, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Dugg Hill Cemetery in Coatopa, Alabama.

Family hour will be held Friday night from 6-7 pm at the funeral home chapel.

Carolyn Webb Clinkscales

Carolyn Webb Clinkscales, age 90, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at her residence.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December

15, 2006 at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Raulerson officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing.

Mrs. Clinkscales was preceded in death by her parents, James Cox Webb and Gertrude Jones Webb; her husband Emmett C. Clinkscales; her sisters, Sara Webb Miller Files; two nephews, Thomas R. “Tommy” Miller, Jr. and James “Jim” Cox Webb.

Survivors include three nieces, Gertrude Miller Purdue and her husband, Ramon of Lookout Mountain, GA., Carolyn Webb Thomas and her husband, Merrill of Mobile, AL., Knight Webb Upchurch and her husband, Michael of Mobile, AL.; her niece-in-law, Brenda H. Miller of Demopolis, AL.; her brother-in-law, Ellis M. Files of Demopolis, AL.; a host of great nieces and great nephews.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Demopolis and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis.

Mrs. Irene Fortune Tarver, age 79, of Valley Grande, AL died on December 7, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 pm at New Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan H. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in New Sister Spring Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: six sons, Earnest Tarver, Otis (Annie) Tarver, George (Rita) Tarver, George Suttles and James Suttles; two daughters, Essie (Frank) Alexander and Shelia (Tyronne) Tarver-McDonald; five brothers, Clarence (Susan) Fortune, William (Janna) Fortune, Gilbert Fortune, Thomas J. Fortune and John W. Jones; six sisters, Ollie (Kyle) Tucker, Oranetta (Edison) Mayo, Regene (Agee) Middleton, Eunice E. Fortune, Leola Tucker and Barbara (Roy) Benjamin; twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Katie Hunter of Selma, AL died on December 14, 2006 at Jefferson County Hospital. Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brother Funeral Home.

Whitfield Loper

Sharon Elizabeth Whitfield Loper, age 48, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2006 in Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathon Lambert officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Loper is survived by her children Shawn (Brandi) Greenhill, Michael (Kristie) Greenhill, Sarah Hill, and Nicholas Hill, mother, Frances Williamson (Loddie), and grandchildren Karlie, Jackson, & Xander Greenhill.

She was preceded in death by her brother, David Whitfield.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Whitaker, Benson Girlie, Mark Englett, Matthew McIlliwain, Josh Wyatt, and Andrew Green.

Joe Nathan Miller, age 71, of Dallas County died on December 12, 2006 in Selma, AL.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Olive #1 M. B. Church with Rev. A. L. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive #1 Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: eight sons, Clarence Ladson and Reginald (Gail) Ladson of Kileen, TX, Wayne (Patricia) Savage, Nathaniel Blakes, Joe Nathan (Denise) Ladson, Michael Green, Jerome (Katina) Miller and adopted son, Johnny Hunter; six daughters, Debra Ladson, Carol Manzie, Synethia (Charles) Bennett of Selma, Regina Ladson of Kileen, TX, Dorothy Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Kathy Green of Montgomery, AL; two brothers, Otis Miller of Detroit, MI and Issac Fuller of Selma, AL; four sisters, Elizabeth (Buddy) Olds and Helen Ratcliffe of Selma, AL, Ruth Hunter of TX and Diane Rudolph of Detroit, MI; thirty-five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one son-in-law, four daughters-in-laws, three brothers-in-laws, seven sisters-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
