The 83rd Turkey Day Classic was just that &045; a classic.
The Tuskegee Golden Bears beat the Alabama State Hornets 17-10. Golden Tigers quarterback Kevin Huff was 18-130, 257 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions. Huff also had 95 yards rushing including the game winning touchdown. The Hornets’ Jay Peck rushed for 97 yards (1,086, 8 touchdowns this season) including a four-yard touchdown to put the Hornets ahead 7-0. Huff marched the Golden Tigers down the field and passed 37 years to Jacary Atkinson for the tie, 7-7.
Golden Tigers defense held the Hornets on their next three possessions, but couldn’t manage a score. ASU’s Chris Dupuy was his usual self, recording 16 tackles. With three seconds remaining in the half, the Golden Tigers’ Roose Echeverry kicked a 25-yard field goal for the lead, 10-7.
Selma native true freshman Adrain Hardy had two tackles.
