William Walter Hooper

William Walter Hooper, age 90, a resident of Clanton, AL died peacefully Thursday, November 223, 2005.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel Prattville Memorial with Reverend Dave Burns officiating. Burial followed in the New Live Oak Cemetery with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.

Mr. Hooper proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp, served during the Korean War in the Army, and in the Air Force during the Berlin crisis. Mr. Hooper retired over 36 years of service to his country finishing his career with the Alabama Air National Guard. He was a dedicated member of the Selma Lion’s Club and the Rooster Club.

Mr. Hooper was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Edwards Hooper.

He is survived by one son, William David (Carlla) Hooper of Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren, David Gregory (Haden) Hooper of Madison, AL and Kara Hooper (Clay) Sawyer of Huntsville, AL; three great grandchildren, Kelsey Hooper, Jenna Hooper and Caroline Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at the Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 pm.

Melvin Bonner

Melvin Bonner, age 63, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Orrville, AL, died on November 22, 2006 in Birmingham, AL.

Edward Lee Bonner, of Boston, MA, formerly of Dallas County, died on November 22, 2006 in Boston, MA.

Linda Walker Dennis

Linda Walker Dennis of Thorsby, Al died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at VA Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

She was born on Saturday, July 17, 1948 in Dallas County, Alabama, daughter of the late Kenneth Wayne Walker, Sr. and the late Evelyn Arthur Walker. She was a Missionary.

Surviving are son, Sam Hoyt of Kingsland, GA; two daughters, Haley Willis of Spingfield, MO and Erin Parker of Tuscaloosa, AL; three grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Walker of Jones, AL and John Walker of Texas; sister, Bette Crowson of Jemison, AL; two step-mothers, Dot Arthur of Clanton, AL and Sue Walker of Clanton, AL.

Friends were received from 6-8 pm on Friday, November 24, 2006. Services were held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 am at First Assembly of God with Rev. Randy Reid officiating. Interment followed in Weaver Family Cemetery in Jones, Alabama.

J.C. Rose

J.C. Rose, age 79, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Tyler, AL, died on November 21, 2006 in Pell City.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Isabella Baptist Church in Tyler, AL. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: four sons, Clarence (Ann) Rose, Willie Rose, Earl (Janie) Rose and J.C. (Nadine) Rose, Jr.; two daughters, Barbara Rose and Elaine (Lee)Wilson; three sisters, Mildred (Buddy) Edwards, Delores Myers, and Amy Goree; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four brothers-in-laws, four sisters-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gloria Goldsby

Gloria Goldsby, age 46, of Selma, died on November 24, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Michelle Linden

Michelle Linden, age 47, of Selma, died on November 24, 2006 at her home.

Patty Sue Brown

Patty Sue Brown, 73, of Selma died November 22, 2006 at a local hospital.

Graveside services were held 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Jim Parker officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Allen Brown, Randy Earl Brown, and Robert &8220;Bobby&8221; (Debbie) Brown; five grandchildren, Mistie B. Odom, Jon M. Brown, Tommy Brady, Emily B. Brown, and Jennifer R. Brown; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sarah M. Humber of Branson, MO.

Reba Snow Lolley

Reba Snow Lolley, age 77, of Linden, Ala., passed away on Friday, November 24, 2006 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

She was born on June 22, 1929 in Jasper, Ala.

She was retired from the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service where she worked as a secretary for 20 years.

She was a member of Linden Baptist Church where she was Sunday School secretary.

Visitation will be at Linden Baptist Church in Linden, Ala. on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 1 – 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Linden Baptist Church on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Billy Harris and Rev. Jerry Gunnells officiating. Burial will be at Linden Memorial Park in Linden, Ala.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest A. Lolley of Linden, Ala.; two sons, Robert Keith Lolley of Marietta, Ga. and Charles Richard &8220;Rick&8221; (Jenise) Lolley of Van Buren, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Snow of Jasper, Ala.; one brother, Cecil (Mary Francis) Snow of Columbia, Ala.; four grandchildren, Elliott Keith Lolley and Hannah Snow Lolley of Chambersburg, Pa. and Charles Patrick Lolley and Jason Andrew Lolley of Van Buren, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Baker, James Creel, Robert Breckenridge, Joe Falls, Charles Lambrecht, John Mansfield and Dennis Mason.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Berean Sunday School Class, William Braswell, Brady Creel, Jack Crocker, Ernest &8220;Buddy&8221; Lawrence, and the CSICU nurses of DCH Regional Medical Center.

William Legrande Sherrill

William Legrande Sherrill, age 78, of Selma, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at New Live Oak Cemetery officiated by Rev. Neal Caver and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Sherrill is survived by his wife, Roberta S. Sherrill of Marion; daughters, Debbie Sherrill of Selma and Teresa Kay (Joseph) Smith of Selma; son, William L. (Ramona) Sherrill Jr. of Selma; grandchildren, Jessica Smith of Selma and Morgan Sherrill of Selma, and a dear friend, Nancy Martin of Selma.

He was a veteran on World War II.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Griffin, Bobbie Rose, Patrick Hatch, Donnie Harris, Barney Chandler and Ronnie Chandler.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
