Patricia Thompson Bowlin

Patricia Thompson Bowlin of Dothan, Ala. and formerly of Enterprise, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 80.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. G. Lance Hogan officiating.

Burial will follow with Searcy Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 North Main St., Enterprise, AL 36330 or the Gideons International, P.O. Box 31073, Enterprise, AL 36331-0173.

Ms. Bowlin retired from Civil Service after 34 years.

She was a member of the Pilot Club, Alabama Federation of Republican Women, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the First Baptist Church, Enterprise.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowlin was preceded in death by her husband,; George R. Thompson and Kenneth Bowlin; and brother Charles Dickson.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Thompson and Paula, of Selma, Ala.; Steve Thompson and Claudia of Dothan, Ala.; Philip Thompson and JoAnna, of Decatur, Ala.; five grandchildren, Lindsay Thompson, Newnan, Ga., Emily Thompson, Montgomery, Ala., Ryan Thompson (Mandi), Cary, N.C., Jeffrey Thompson, Auburn, Ala., Whitney Thompson, Auburn, Ala.; also surviving is a life long friend, Juanita Millen, Albion, Neb.

Ella Callens

Ella Callens, age 42, of Selma, Ala. died on November 21, 2006 in Selma.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Walker Mortuary.

Mr. Jimmy Besteda

Mr. Jimmy Besteda, age 53, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Demopolis, Ala. passed November 18, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center, Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jefferson, Ala. Rev. Edmond Charleston will officiate. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Ala.

Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements.
