Peggy Johnson Gilbert

Peggy Johnson Gilbert, age 72, formerly of Selma, Alabama, most recently of Prattville, Alabama, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2006.

Mrs. Gilbert was the daughter of Ed Burke and Vivian Johnson. She was a 1952 graduate of A.G. Parrish High School in Selma, Ala. She was the class musician and Sunday school pianist during her high school years at the Church Street United Methodist Church. She was the dietitian at John T. Morgan Academy for 20 years.

Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Gilbert, Jr., she is survived by her children, Vicki G. Moses of Prattville, AL and Paul E. (Marianne) Gilbert of Troy, Ala.; five grandchildren, Will “Buck” Moses, Paul (Valery) Moses, Mary Peyton Gilbert, Emily Anne Gilbert and Winter Gilbert; and on great grandchild, Paul William Moses.

Visitation will be Thursday 6-8pm. Graveside services will be Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church 100 Crescent Hill Dr., Selma, AL 36701, Boy Scouts of America Tukabatchee Area Council 3067 Cater Hill Rd., Montgomery, AL 36111, American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.

Martha Ann Wittkamp Browning

Martha Ann Wittkamp Browning of Guyton, Georgia lost her battle with cancer on November 14, 2006. Martha was born in Savannah, Ga. on August 6, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Wittkamp and Florence Collins Wittkamp, and son Hickman “Trey” Bamburg.

Martha is survived by her husband of 27 years, David Melton Browning of Guyton, Ga.; sister, Velma Carolyn Wittkamp of New Orleans, La.; daughters, Karen (Ron) Jackson of Mobile, Ala., Harriette (Craig) Armstrong of Springfield, Ga. and a son, Bryan (Sharon) Browning of Richmond Hill, Ga. Grandchildren, Brandon (Kasey) Sellars of Springfield, Ga., Garrett Armstrong of Springfield, Ga., and Kaitlyn Browning of Richmond Hill, Ga.; and a great granddaughter, Baileigh McKenna Sellars of Springfield, Ga.

Mrs. Browning was a member of Elam-Egypt Baptist Church, was employed by Savannah OBGYN & Assoc. and a member of Savannah Bowling Assoc.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 starting at 4:30 p.m.

Funeral services, Friday, November 17, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. from the Ben Wages Chapel of Riggs Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Dominy, Douglas Sikes, Marvin Moore, Aaron Herring, Kirk Harnage and Lonnie Byrd.

Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice Care, 5105 Paulsen St., Suite 225D, Savannah, Ga. 31405.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Riggs Funeral Home of Guyton, Ga. directing.

Richard Danny Johnson, 53, of Selma, Ala. died on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at his home.

Mrs. Marian T. Brown, age 54, of Selma, Ala. died on November 15, 2006 at UAB.

Ms. Annie Jackson, of New York, formerly of Sardis, Ala., died in New York.
