Nannie Bell “Tootsie” Tyler

Nannie Bell “Tootsie” Tyler, age 64, of Selma, AL passed away on November 7, 2006.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Scott officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Jones, AL.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday at 6-8:00 p.m.

She is survived by three sons, Gene (Helena) McCray, Wayne (Tracy) McCray and Gary McCray; two daughters, Debbie Chancey and Deresa Taylor; four brothers, Macon Moore, Henry Moore, Bill Moore and David Moore, Jr.; seven sisters, Bernice Blackerby, Minnie Rivers, Betty Jo Kendrick, Ruth Arthur, Shirley Davis, Frances Prickett and June Furlough; eleven grandchildren, Sonny Hollingshead, Shaun Pierce, Ashley Pierce, Jesica McCray, Kayla McCray, Gary Wayne McCray, Steven Howey, Wayne McCray, Jr., Haley McCray, Joshua McCray and Nathan McCray; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Lee Moore, Sr. and Viola Moore.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Pierce, Gary Wayne McCray, Steven Howey, Dwayne Gray, Jerry Davis, and Clayton Conque.

Willie James Fisher, Jr.

Willie James Fisher, Jr. of Orrville, Alabama died on November 5, 2006 in Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Keith High School.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Marvin Fails

Marvin Fails, age 52, of Selma, AL died on November 2, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at East Salem Baptist Church with W.J. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in East Salem Baptist Cemetery with Miller Funeral Services directing.

Survivors include: spouse, Saprenia Jackson; five sons, Rodreguis Thomas, Darryl Thomas, Ali Thomas, Kendrick Thomas, and Nicholas Nettles; one daughter, Stephanie Washington; seven brothers, Carl Fails, Jerry Fails, Nathaniel Fails, Murray Fails, Melvins Fails, Andy Brown and Markus Brown; six sisters, Janie Anderson, Dianne Steele, Nina Fails, Carolyn Brown, Mary Gibson, and Jacqueline Boyd; one grandchild; two sisters-in-laws, three brothers-in-laws, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be brothers, nephews and friends.

Jessica Boggs Gullett, 29, of Selma died on November 4, 2006.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Christian Grace Apostolic Church with Bishop James Marshall officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

Eunice Thomas, age 74, of Selma, AL died on November 5, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 10:00 am at Lewis Brothers Chapel. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Christine W. Pearson

Christine W. Pearson, age 83, of Selma, AL, passed away November 8, 2006 at Warren Manor Nursing home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Art Hartley officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley P. (Joe) Killett and Linda P. (Robert) Caver; two sisters, Nettie B. Walker and Rosa B. Carter; two grandchildren, Christie D. (Ronnie) Sawyer and Rhonda G. Caver and two great grandchildren, Lori Henderson and Eric P. Henderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; her husband, J. W. Pearson; parents, William C. & Mary Willitte and brother, William Willitte.

Pallbearers will be Eric Henderson, Dillan Cooper, Ronnie Sawyer, Sam Yarbrough, Troy Stokes and Ken Welch.

Earnest Calvin McMillian, Sr., born on March 5, 1950, died on November 6, 2006.

Home going celebration held at Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Camden, AL with Pastor Rodney T. Morton officiating.

John Henry Landers, 64, of Detroit, MI, formerly of Sardis, AL died on Friday, November 3, 2006 in Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at New Bride Baptist Church in Sardis, AL. Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing. The remains will repose at the church from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jenita Roscoe-Wright and Roxanne Landers; his mother, Anna Landers; five brothers, Horace Landers, Albert Landers, Elza (Barbara) Landers, Oscar Landers, and Hayward (Beverly) Landers; a special friend, Vanessa Johnson; a special aunt, Willie Lee Hunter; two granddaughters, one grandson and ten great grandchildren.
