A bond hearing is scheduled for this week, and could be as early as today. At that time, an attorney for Goings may ask the court to lower his bond.
The infant, who sustained a head injury,
is listed in stable condition at Children’s Hospital in
Birmingham, according to Selma Police Department investigators.
Police Chief Jimmy Martin said the case is under further investigation.
Information surrounding the injury of the four-month-old is not available. Martin did say additional charges could be brought against others in the case, but would not elaborate on the details.
According to police, Goings allegedly fractured the child’s skull.
