Hezekiah Johnson, age 83, of Selma, AL died on October 2, 2006 at Terrace Oaks Rehab Center in Bessemer, AL.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.

at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Ronnie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: father, Alfred Johnson; four brothers, Willie James, John, Leon and Charles; two sisters, Sadie Walker and Parilee Cobbs; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; special nephew, Marvin (Malinda) Alexander; and special friends, Malinda Vickers, Lois, Mona, Kellie, Dot, Renay, Jessie, Sherry, and Preacher.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

William Oscar Smith, Jr.

William Oscar Smith, Jr., age 75, of Selma, AL, passed away October 4, 2006 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Micah Gandy officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be at Selma Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his wife, Anne F. Smith; one son, Billy Smith of Selma, AL; one daughter, Debbie Cole of Selma, AL; one brother, Ted (Evelyn) Smith of Fort Deposit, AL; one grandchild, Scott Cole; one great grandchild, Caleb Cole and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen Smith, John Smith, and Aubrey Smith and three sisters, Doris Van Staden, Thelma Carson and Judy Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Bob Smith, Andy Flowers, Scott Cole, Ferrell Ford, Micky Corson and Johnny Cooper.

Mr. Smith served in the National Guard and was in the U.S. Army where he served stateside in communications during the Korean Conflict.

He was a devoted husband and father and loved his family very much.

He was a member of Elkdale Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lee Drester Wilson, age 95, of Demopolis, Alabama died on October 1, 2006 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miller’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Willie Moore will officiate. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama. The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
